I still have one week of holidays, but it starts to show that summer runs on its end; days are getting shorter, the sky was grey today while the weather forecast was announcing sunny moments, but.. Sky stayed grey. It has been one year now that I have the Norton, my dad’s Norton and she is finally getting a bit more reliable. Or well, for what it’s worth, it can also be that it is actually myself that starts to trust the Norton a bit better and got to know her a bit. Today I took the Norton out for a ride and actually riding it, without keeping the idea in the back of my head to stay close to home in case I have to push her back and she did well. The Norton still consumes a lot of gas though, despite the working of the starter.

The Norton parked after the ride in the garage of my parents-in-law
Coming winter I would like to replace the rear suspensions; first I wanted to send the current ones to a suspension specialist to have them refurbished, but as it appears, the Koni’s the Norton currently has, though I’ve always known it with Koni’s, don’t appear to be the original ones. As it appears, originally the Norton should have had Girling suspensions so I’ll probably go with a new pair of Girling’s, just to try.
I can still have the Koni’s refurbished later on. The front suspensions need work too, but that I don’t feel comfortable doing myself, so I’ll probably take the Norton to Machines & Moteurs anyway at some point in time. The exhaust locking nuts are still holding with the sheet copper.
